OCTOBER 10

Archway entrance to the Olympic field. This arch was added by the Romans.

This is the original Olympic field. The starting line and finish line are still there and are made of marble.

There was an earthquake around 53 AD that tumbled the columns.

This is the place that every 4 years the torch is lit by sunlight.

Beautiful statue in the museum.

There were a lot of curves in the roads. Greece is made up of mountains, with little flat areas. Can you see that the road wraps around and under itself?

Notice that there are metal posts sticking out of the top of the building. In order to keep zoning guidelines, people start the next phase of their buildings and leave them unfinished for years.

This is "The Bridge" connecting mainland Greece from the Peloponnese.

The cathedral of St Andrew in Patra.
